If you run an online shop, it might not be the smartest strategy to exclude a fifth of your potential customers. This can be the effect of barriers. People with disabilities and older people are an attractive target group because they can benefit from online shopping for various reasons, such as limited mobility. Here are some interesting data points from the UK:

Unfortunately, it doesn't say how these figures were collected. The number of disabled people is likely known from social statistics, the purchasing power figure is probably an extrapolation, and the rest was likely obtained through surveys. The data is from 2021.
