  • The target group: Accessibility begins with people
    Our training courses focus not only on technical implementation, but above all on understanding the people who use digital services. We explain why individual requirements are important and what impact they have on everyday life. In this way, accessibility is not understood as a mere checklist, but as the foundation for accessible, understandable, and usable digital communication.

  • Data security: Reliable sources instead of half-truths
    Especially in the field of digital accessibility, many statements, offers, and recommendations circulate, the scientific basis of which is not always clear. Therefore, we place great importance on distinguishing between opinions, trends, legal requirements, guidelines, and reliable study results. Our training courses help to classify information and make decisions based on valid sources.

  • Efficiency and individualization: Small groups, specific needs
    Before each training session, we try to understand as precisely as possible who will be participating, what prior knowledge they have, and which tasks are relevant to their daily work. This allows us to tailor the content and deliver it in a practical way. We deliberately keep our open training sessions small—usually with fewer than five people—to ensure sufficient time for individual questions, examples, and concrete implementation steps.

Online training: Using screen readers and conducting user tests (NVDA in practice)

If you've ever wanted to listen to your website, document, or web app with a screen reader and interact with it using the keyboard, you've come to the right place. During this training, we'll use NVDA as an example to explain how to use screen readers and which keyboard shortcuts and additional output formats provide information about potential accessibility barriers.

To ensure accessibility in practice and to test both logic problems and complex content for comprehensibility beyond visual information sources, screen reader tests are indispensable.

Online-Schulung: Barrierefreie PDFs mit Microsoft Word

Accessible documents are becoming increasingly important for communication. However, not every document can be shared with external service providers. And in many cases, that's not necessary.

Mit Microsoft Office können Sie mit geringem Aufwand barrierefreie Dokumente erstellen: Zum Beispiel Pressemitteilungen, Protokolle, aber auch Präsentationen oder Excel-Tabellen. Wie das geht, erfahren Sie in diesem Online-Workshop.

Online training: Accessible PDFs with Adobe Acrobat Pro

Semantic tags, image descriptions, tag structures – creating accessible PDFs can be quite complicated. Learn how in this online workshop on Adobe Acrobat Professional.

The training consists of short lectures, demonstrations, and, most importantly, practical exercises. It focuses on post-processing Word documents in Adobe Acrobat Professional: you will learn how to work with the tag tree and how to optimize documents for visually impaired and blind users. You will also learn how to test PDFs for accessibility. This will make it easier for you to review documents created by colleagues or agencies.

Tag trees, image descriptions, linearization – preparing accessible PDFs can be quite complicated. Learn how in this online workshop on creating accessible PDFs with Adobe InDesign.

The workshop consists of short presentations, demonstrations, and, most importantly, practical exercises. It focuses on creating accessible brochures and other documents in Adobe InDesign: you will learn how to work with the tag tree, create image descriptions and artifacts, define the reading order, structure tables, and much more.

Der Einstieg in das Thema barrierefreies Internet ist nicht ganz einfach. In dieser Online-Schulung werden Sie praxisnah in die Richtlinien des barrierefreien Internets wie die BITV 2.0 und die WCAG 2.1 eingeführt. Zudem werden wir den European Accessibility Act (EAA) bzw. das Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz (BFSG) besprechen und zusammenfassen, was dazu schon bekannt ist.

Nach einer kleinen theoretischen Einführung schauen wir uns am lebenden Objekt an, was Barrierefreiheit konkret bedeutet. Begriffe wie Semantik, Tastatur-Bedienbarkeit oder Trennung von Struktur und Gestaltung bleiben ansonsten abstrakt. Durch unsere Einführung erhalten Sie eine praxisnahe Einführung in diese Gebiete.

Online training: Checking websites for accessibility

This online workshop introduces you to testing websites for accessibility. You will learn how to effectively test websites and web components for accessibility. If you are particularly interested in guidelines such as BITV 2.0 and WCAG 2.1, we recommend our online introduction to web accessibility. In that workshop, we will also discuss the European Accessibility Act (EAA) and the German Accessibility Strengthening Act (BFSG), summarizing current information on these topics.

In everyday life, it is often necessary to check websites or web components such as tables or forms for accessibility.
In this training, we will show you how to check websites, content, and applications for accessibility.
We'll show you tips and tricks that simplify some of the testing steps. We've also structured the testing steps for more efficient application. Last but not least, you'll learn how to efficiently create error reports and prioritize problems.
At the end of the training, you will be able to check content and components such as forms for accessibility. And more importantly: you will gain enough basic knowledge to delve deeper into the subject independently.

Diese Online-Schulung führt Sie in die Grundlagen und die praktische Umsetzung von barrierefreiem Design ein. Sie lernen, wie digitale Inhalte, Oberflächen und Interaktionen so gestaltet werden können, dass sie für möglichst viele Menschen zugänglich und verständlich sind.

It's not just about individual requirements like contrast or font sizes. Accessible design begins with the structure of information, understandable texts, clear interactions, and intuitive user guidance. In this training, we'll show you how to integrate accessibility considerations early in the design, conception, and product development process.

Im Alltag entstehen viele Barrieren bereits vor der technischen Umsetzung — zum Beispiel durch unklare Inhalte, fehlende Zustände, unverständliche Fehlermeldungen, zu kleine Bedienelemente oder nicht eindeutig erkennbare Interaktionen.

In dieser Schulung zeigen wir Ihnen, wie Sie digitale Inhalte und Anwendungen von Anfang an barriereärmer gestalten können. Wir betrachten einfache redaktionelle Inhalte ebenso wie komplexere Komponenten, Formulare, Interaktionen und Applikationen. Dabei besprechen wir typische Anforderungen aus WCAG, BITV 2.0 und BFSG-Kontext und übertragen sie auf konkrete Designentscheidungen.

Diese Online-Schulung führt Sie in die barrierefreie Gestaltung, Prüfung und Umsetzung von Formularen ein. Sie lernen, welche typischen Barrieren in Formularen entstehen und wie Sie Formulare so planen, gestalten und prüfen können, dass sie für möglichst viele Menschen nutzbar sind.

Forms are among the most important and, at the same time, most error-prone areas of digital accessibility. They appear in PDFs, websites, web applications, and apps, and are often crucial to whether users can successfully complete a process.

In everyday life, forms are used in very different situations:

  • Contact forms,
  • Applications,
  • Registrations,
  • Login processes,
  • Checkouts,
  • Appointment bookings,
  • Feedback or complex administrative forms.


It is particularly important here that content is understandable, fields are clearly labelled, error messages are comprehensible, and processes can be operated using a keyboard, screen reader, or other assistive technologies.

In this training, we'll show you what's important for accessible forms—regardless of whether they're implemented as PDFs, on a website, or in an app. We'll discuss fundamental requirements for structure, labels, mandatory fields, help texts, error messages, groups, keyboard navigation, focus guidance, and clear process design.

We will also examine typical differences between PDF forms, web forms, and app forms. This includes conceptual questions as well as practical testing steps and common sources of error. You will learn how to identify, document, and prioritize form problems.

At the end of the training, you will be able to better understand typical barriers in forms, to examine existing forms more effectively, and to plan new forms to be less barrier-free from the outset.
