Ausgabe 9-2021:

Bewusstsein da, Umsetzung fehlt

Von Domingos De Oliveira (netz-barrierefrei.de):

The newsletter is celebrating its third birthday. I sent out the first issue in September 2018. With almost 800 subscribers now – some of whom I hope will actually read it – it's the most up-to-date and comprehensive information resource on digital accessibility in the German-speaking world. There wasn't a central accessibility topic in August, so let's move directly to the interesting articles.

Tool of the Month

A quick note beforehand: While I'm happy to point out helpful tools, I unfortunately cannot provide support for them. Please read the instructions or contact the provider directly.

Testing for accessibility isn't rocket science, but it's not easy to learn either. Automated tools aren't powerful enough yet, and manual methods are difficult to master. A good compromise is tools that guide you through the testing process step by step. One such tool is Microsoft Accessibility Insights, available as a browser extension for Chrome and Edge, and as a Windows application.
