Newsletter

Edition (01-2024):
Everyone's talking about AI, and so are we.

With Domingos De Oliveira (netz-barrierefrei.de):

The newsletter on digital accessibility is celebrating its 5th birthday: For 60 issues, we've been keeping you informed about the latest developments in digital accessibility and have become the most important source of information on this topic – partly because there are hardly any other relevant sources of information. Let's see if we'll celebrate our 10th birthday too.

Gute Nachricht des Monats

Two new AI-based applications have been added for blind users: The BeMyEyes app now features GPT-based functionality that can provide detailed descriptions of scenes and images. Microsoft's SeeingAI app is now also available for Android users. The third is Envision AI, which has been available for Android and iOS for some time and functions similarly to SeeingAI.

Tip of the Month

Writing alternative text, for example for complex infographics, isn't always easy. The application Bard – Google's alternative to ChatGPT – can help you with this. Upload the image and ask Bard to describe it. As always, you should review and revise the text and be mindful of data privacy.
